What do I need to know about Hepatitis B?
The preferred method of testing for Hepatitis B currently is the earliest indicator of acute hepatitis B and frequently identifies infected people before symptoms appear; undetectable in the blood during the recovery period; it is the primary way of identifying those with chronic infections.
What kind of sample is necessary for this test?
A small blood sample is drawn at one of our Patient Service Centers.
Any test preparation needed?
No preparation is needed for this test.
What does my hepatitis B test result mean?
A negative result means that there is no sign of the virus or an acute infection of the virus has been resolved. A positive result means that the hepatitis B virus is active.
